Gambling and a Rock Concert . . . the life of our 3 month old!

Wow! What a busy weekend! Elliott has been recooperating all morning . . . she's only been awake long enough to eat twice and it's almost 3 in the afternoon.

On Friday it was Hayley's 29th birthday party at Remington Park. She spent it exactly how I spent mine . . . PREGNANT! We went and took Elliott to celebrate. We had a great time! Unfortunately, I didn't even get a pic of Ellie before she spit up all over her precious little white dress. She had on these adorable peeptoe shoes . . . so cute! I will have to recreate the outfit just for a pic!

On Saturday night, we attended an outdoor concert. The band, Aranda, was playing and they also had a chili cook-off. It was a perfect evening weather-wise. We got a spot under a shade tree and Elliott work her rockstar outfit. We went with Grandma, Grandpa, Aunt Des, Uncle Mike, Sadie, and Haven. Elliott did awesome, as usual! She is so good! However, I did feel bad about having her out so late two nights in a row.

We decided it was too hot for jeans so we opted
for the jean skirt/cowgirl boot combo. Very cute!

3 months

I know I start 90% of my posts this way, but "I can't believe Elliott is 3 months old already!" Summer has flown by! If I were going back to teaching, my first day of school would be tomorrow. That's crazy! I still feel like it was just yesterday that I was pregnant. But, it has been a very fun and memorable 3 months. I can't believe how much Elliott is already learning. We didn't have a 3 month checkup, but I weighed and measured her at home to the best of my ability. She is about 13 pounds and 23 inches long. She is continuing to sleep all night (8-10 hours) and nap throughout the day. She eats between 4 and 6 oz. every 3 hours. Between napping and eating, she has really begun to enjoy books. Her favorite is a big Baby Einstein book I recently bought. We read it at least once a day. She also likes to watch Handy Manny and The Price is Right on TV (Really!). She loves for me to play peek-a-boo and do pat-a-cake with her hands and feet. She recently discovered her ears and likes to feel/tug/flick them when she can get her hands to cooperate. If they won't, she's happy sticking as many fingers as possible into her slobbery, little mouth! Sometimes she gags herself, but it must be worth it because you can hear her slurping from another room in the house!

She continues to love bathtime, her mobile in her bed, laying on her changing table, and looking around her room. She's been sleeping later and it's too hot to go on walks after about 8 a.m., but I'm looking forward to cooler weather so we can go for our morning walks. We're having so much fun! I'm so thankful that I do not have to return to work . . . I can't imagine not being with her all day!

Here are some new pics of my little angel.

This isn't of Elliott, but it cracks me up!
Instead of "Where's Waldo," it's "Where's Wylie?"
He follows me into her room everytime I go
in there to change her.
Then he curls up on the
floor with her stuffed animals. He never chews on
them (which I know takes a lot of self-control on
his part), but just likes to hang there and wait on us.
Have I mentioned that Wylie LOVES Ellie?!
Ellie likes to hang out in her highchair while I make her bottles or make my lunch.

So beautiful!

How cute are these leg warmers?

The many faces of Elliott

"Mom . . . are you seriously going to take a picture of me sneezing?"Ornery!

"I know just how to get them to do what I want."

"This also works well . . . "

"It's almost time for football season. Dad told
me to do this when the Cowboys score a touchdown!"

"You talkin' to me . . .?"
"I'm so cute, I can't stand it."

"I look like this when I do my Jack Nicholson impersonation.
My dad can do it, too."

"Now, how many people can look like a grumpy
grandpa and still look cute?"
That's talent.

Cowboy Caravan

Last Wednesday Elliott attended her first OSU event! We went to the Cowboy Caravan at the Cowboy Hall of Fame. She was all dressed up in her OSU Orange! We ate at Bedlam Barbeque with Aunt Des, Uncle Mike, Haven, and Sadie. Right when we got there we met Pistol Pete and had our picture taken with him! After 4 years at OSU and numerous events, games, activities, that's my first time to have my picture made with him! Then we got to hear Coach Gundy talk about the upcoming football season. He gave a great speech and we were all pumped up about the season when we left! It's fun to be in a place where everyone feels about OSU like we do . . . PROUD to be a COWBOY!

Elliott did awesome, of course! She didn't even flinch when Pistol Pete fired his gun three different times. She was awake and alert for the whole thing until the last few minutes. I think she really enjoyed her first OSU event!
