Jackson is 6 months old!

Jackson turned 6 months old on Sunday.  We had his 6 month appointment today.  Here are his stats:

Weight: 20 lbs. (86%)
Length: 27.5 in. (84%)
Head: 18.25 (97%)

All of his percentiles have stayed about the same, so he's right on target for his growth.  He had to get 2 shots, and didn't even cry on the first one!  He just cried for a second with the other, but apparently it's a painful shot to get.  He is tough!!

Here's what Jackson is doing at 6 months:

-Sitting up really well by himself
-Sitting up with the boppy and playing with toys
-Eating baby food, cereal, yogurt, and yogurt melts
-Likes his pacifier at naptime/bedtime
-Loves his sister and dogs (looks for them when we say their names)
-He's very strong and wiggly!  (Even Dr. Moore said he was acting more like the 9 month old babies act at their well baby appts.)
-likes to bounce in his Johnny Jump and Exersaucer
-says "Ma-ma" and "Da-da"
-Wearing 9 month clothes, size 3 diapers
-Likes for us to sing "Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star"
-Puts EVERYTHING in his mouth
-Slobbering!!
-Went in the nursery room for the first time at church last Sunday
-Goes in the child watch room at the YMCA
-Went swimming for the first time

These pics crack me up!

Love these 3!!!!!!

Snow Day and Jackson Sits Up!

If you remember, my post last Tuesday was titled "Enjoying the Sunshine."  This week it should be "Enjoying the Snow!"  Crazy how this Oklahoma weather can change.  But either way, it's fun to play outside in sunshine or snow!  Once again, we waited for Jackson to go down for his nap, and then we bundled up and went out to play.  It was a great snow day!  Not windy at all, but LOTS of snow falling.  The snowflakes are HUGE!  It was cold, but not miserable.  Now if Daddy would've been home to get the sled out, it would've been perfect!  It's still snowing now, so maybe we can still do that this afternoon.

 Love this smiley girl!

Jackson is also doing very well at sitting up on his own now.  Poor guy is a little top heavy as you can see in this first picture, but he's doing great!
 Playing with his favorite toy.

 LOVE.
Looks like his daddy here . . . ornery!!

Happy Birthday, Tatum!

This past weekend, we loaded up and went to Tulsa to visit our friends, the Hatfields, and celebrate their little girl Tatum's 3rd birthday.  We went down on Saturday and stayed in a hotel so that Ellie could go swimming.  We took her to the YMCA last week and she's been wanting to swim again ever since.  Jack got to go swimming for the first time, too!

Doesn't get any cuter than this!!

Even after the long winter break, Ellie didn't miss a beat when it came to swimming.  She put on her arm floaties and took off!  When she's having fun now, she always yells out, "Woo hoo!"  She said that a lot this weekend.
Tatum came to swim with us!

Enjoying the Sunshine

Today was a beautiful day, especially for the beginning of February!  As soon as Jackson went down for his afternoon nap, Ellie and I gathered some sidewalk chalk, bubbles, and her scooter and went out on the driveway to enjoy the sunshine.

She is really into hopping, jumping, skipping, running, and any other form of activity that we do at the YMCA in our Mommy & Me class.  We played hopscotch for a while and then made a "shape path."  She had to choose what we did (hop, skip, run, walk backwards, etc.) on the path.  We put an alligator in the middle to help us to remember to stay on the path.  If you got off the path, the alligator would get you!

We also blew bubbles, had a fruit snack picnic, and rode the scooter.  When I rode it, Ellie said, "Good job, Mommy."  I was so proud. :)

Playing Hopscotch . . . hopping several times in a row and on one foot isn't nearly as easy as it used to be.

 Having fun being messy!

Eating fruit snacks.  She even let me have the last one.  I split it with her. :)

We've officially got spring fever now!  Hope Mr. Groundhog was right!
