Easter Weekend 2013

We had the most beautiful weather last weekend!  It didn't last long, but it was nice to be able to play outside and celebrate Easter all weekend long with our family and friends.

On Friday, I took Jackson and Ellie on a wagon ride.  We also picked dandelions, wrote on the driveway with sidewalk chalk, and dusted off Ellie's tricycle and scooter.  She had a little trouble last summer and fall on the tricycle because her legs weren't quite long or strong enough to push the pedals.  She has definitely overcome that!  She got on and cruised around the driveway.  We even got her a new helmet since Bike Day at school is just a few weeks away.

I love this!!

On Saturday, the day before Easter, Papa Clint and Grandpa came over to visit.  Ellie showed off her cycling skills and new helmet.

That evening, all the cousins came over and we ate pizza, colored eggs, and had a practice egg hunt!

The Easter Bunny came!  Ellie left him some carrots and chocolates.  He ate everything, but left the wrappers.  Ellie was a little annoyed that he didn't throw his trash away. :)

Following the trail of eggs to her basket.  She loved this part!

We went over to some friends' after church on Sunday.  We had an awesome lunch, a huge egg hunt, and the kids played outside all day.  The weather was perfect and we all had a blast!

Gage drove all the girls around in his truck.

Ellie returned the favor by giving him a push on the swing.

Waiting on the dads to hide the eggs.

 Ready, Set, Go!

 Look at all those eggs!

We left around 6:00 p.m. and Ellie fell asleep in the car.  She slept until 7:30 a.m. the next morning, and I had to wake her up then to get ready for school.  She was exhausted!  With both kids in bed early, Kyle and I watched "The Bible" together.  A perfect ending to a perfect Easter!!

Jackson at 7 months and his first tooth!

Jackson turned 7 months old last week.  Here's what is going on:

-He weighs 21.7 lbs. and is 27 1/2 inches long
-Wearing size 3 diapers, but when this box is gone, we're moving up to size 4!
-Wearing 9 months and some 12 month clothing
-Has mastered sitting up on his own and now moves from a sitting position to his tummy
-Starting to try to crawl
-Holds his arms up when he wants us to pick him up
-Got his first tooth and the second one came in a few days later
-Liking baby food better and loves the mum-mum snacks
-Practicing drinking out of a sippy cup
-Went on his first vacation/plane ride to Florida and did AWESOME!
-Loves to sleep on his belly and usually with his face flat down on the mattress (scares me to death, but no matter how many times I turn him over, he goes right back to his belly)
-Is starting to sleep through the night more often, about 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.
-Will pull himself from sitting to his knees on me when I'm sitting on the floor next to him.
-Is allergic to bananas and breaks out in a rash if he eats them just like Ellie did!
-Is a happy boy!

Showing off his first tooth!
That rash on his face is from eating a few banana yogurt melts. :(

We love you so much, Jackson Kyle!  You are such a sweet, fun baby!

Ellie's First Spa Day and Gage's 2nd Birthday

This has been a crazy month!  We have had lots going on, and we still have a week to go in the month. There have been several birthday parties and dinners, appointments, a concert, a vacation, March madness, Ellie starting gymnastics, and this weekend is Easter!  Plus, I'm so sick of this cold weather.  Springtime, please??

Before I can get to posting vacation pics, I have to include some from the week before.  For my birthday, Kyle and I went to the Miranda Lambert concert.  It was so much fun and a much needed date night!
On my actual birthday, my Nini and I took Ellie to get her first mani/pedi.  She wasn't sure about it at first, and I thought she may back out, but she finally got up the courage to put her feet in the water and she ended up loving it!  She was so proud of her nails (Thunder blue and orange) and the flowers on her big toes.

She didn't like that the water bubbled and changed colors.  Isn't that supposed to make it more appealing?
We could get used to this!

Last Saturday, we went to Gage's 2nd birthday party at a Jump Zone.  Ellie and all the kids had a blast bouncing and sliding!

They really did have a blast despite the looks on their faces here!

 Getting a hug from Ryder
Jackson hung out and watched everyone.  We had to strip him down because it got super hot once all those kids got to jumpin'!
 "Come on, Gage!"

Happy Birthday, Gage!  We had a blast at your party!

After the party we went home for what seemed like hours of packing!  We were leaving early the next morning for Florida.  That post is coming soon! ;)

Sweet kids!

Jackson loves bouncing in his jumper and exersaucer!

He is such a happy guy!

He is officially too big for the infant tub!  He really likes this new tub.  He can splash, play, and move around much better now!

I usually try not to brag, but I can't help it.  I have beautiful kids! ;)
And sweet ones, too!
