Elliott in 3D!

Well, we had our 3D high resolution ultrasound last Thursday. This was the one that we had in order to get a closer look at Elliott's kidneys. We did get some good news! While the amount of fluid is still measuring about the same, it's measuring at the very top of normal (which is 5 mm). Dr. Stanley (the doctor who did this ultrasound) said that she wasn't considered at significant risk until the fluid measured between 6 and 7 mm. So, we do have to return in 6 weeks to have another look just to be sure, but for the time being it looks as if everything will be okay!! In the meantime, I'm enjoying looking at these pictures of my sweet girl. We also have a DVD of the whole ultrasound that I've now watched . . . well, I've lost count of how many times! It's so unbelievable to see her right there on the big screen! She's beautiful of course! And besides her kidneys, Dr. Stanley said everything else looked great . . . her heart, her brain, the umbilical cord and blood flow to it, etc. The first ultrasound tech said that based on the measurements of her thigh bone and arm bone, she would put me about a week ahead of my due date (which I've been trying to tell Dr. Hager!). I originally calculated my due date for May 11th. Dr. Hager says May 17th. So, I guess we'll see! Lil' Miss Elliott weighs about 2 pounds 13 ounces right now!

I love this one. You can see her little chubby
cheeks and her foot and toes.
You can also see the umbilical cord.
Not sure if that is a smile or a grimace, but it's cute!

So sweet! We think she has my nose and Kyle's mouth. :)

So angelic.

Back in 2D . . . a look at her nose and mouth from below.
You can also see her belly and her right leg.

Her hand . . . only 4 fingers in the picture,
but Dr. Stanley assured me a thumb was hiding in there!

Another picture of her foot. (We seem to get
one of these every ultrasound. She doesn't get
that from me!)

Third Trimester

Well, today is officially the first day of my third trimester! It's hard to believe that we're in the home stretch. Fortunately, I've really enjoyed being pregnant. Other than just wanting to have Elliott here, I'm okay with the fact that I have 3 more months of pregnancy. I've definitely been having fun decorating her room! We were out of school for 4 days (6 including the weekend) due to the snow and Kyle was out of town for 3 of those days. So, I used the time to work on some projects for Elliott's room. There are still a few things I want to do and some things for her room that I registered for, so I'm going to wait a little while to finish, but it's very close!
I made the letters for her name
and added ribbon and flowers to the little
green lantern (it doesn't light up, but not sure
what else to call it). I also added ribbon to
the valance and the curtains.
I absolutely love her lamp and the bright flowers
on this wall. My mom had the sign made for her room.
It reads, "Someday my prince will come, but for
now I have my daddy."
Love it!

I've registered for a clock and a bookshelf that
I would like to eventually put on this wall.
The picture in the white frame is of her
perfect profile from our 20 week ultrasound.

This is my preggo picture at 26 weeks.
I had Kyle take another one the next morning
because I thought that the fact that I didn't
have on a maternity shirt made me look bigger here.
Seems that wasn't the case . . .
I think I'm just big here . . .
this is a maternity shirt. Not much difference!
The shirt is really cute, though! My friend, Erika,
at work had it made for me. It says "May" on
the little package the stork is carrying.
I have a doctor's appointment next Tuesday and
I'll start seeing Dr. Hager every two weeks after that!
I also have the high resolution ultrasound on February
18th. We're praying that everything will be fine with
our little girl's kidneys (and everything else).
Once again, if there is something wrong, it's not
slowing her down! She is very active! It probably doesn't
help that her mom has a HUGE sweet tooth. I think all
the sugar has her hyped up! Hey . . . you have so many
restrictions when you're pregnant that you find joy in small
things (like Braum's chocolate milkshakes and Hershey kisses with almonds)!
