Jackson at 5 months

I have to brag on myself.  Jackson is 5 months old TODAY, and here I am posting the pics/stats!  I feel like I did that with Ellie every month, but it has yet to happen with Jackson.  In fact, did I post 4 month pics?? Not sure.  Anyway, here he is!

Weight: 19.1 pounds
Length: 27 inches
Clothing size: 6-9 months (and even a few 12 months)
Diaper size: 2 (but, as soon as this box is gone we're moving up to size 3)

We thought Ellie was a big baby, but she only weighed 16 pounds and was 25 inches at 5 months.  Our little guy is becoming our big guy!!

Things you're doing at 5 months:
drooling
laughing
talking
rolling over (front to back)
ALMOST rolling over back to front
sitting with support
turning around 180 degrees in your crib
eating baby food (favorites so far: carrots and pears)
putting yourself to sleep in your crib
playing in your exersaucer
liking toys and books
love looking at yourself in the mirror
putting your feet in your mouth
sticking out your tongue
sucking on your lips

We love you so much Jackson Kyle Sevier!! We are so proud of you!

OSU Cuties!

SO.  We got the kids through the first round of sickness (barely) and then another round hit.  This time, Ellie woke up with a stomach bug, immediately followed by Jackson catching it.  The next day was Kyle's turn, and the next day was mine!  The silver lining in this dark cloud of sickness: Kyle and I were sick on different days and that made it much easier to take care of the kids!

Anyway, the real reason for this post: my OSU Cuties!  Kyle got me a gift certificate for a 2' x 3' canvas of any picture I wanted.  We just redid the office, so I chose an older pic of us at an OSU bowl game.  It was a cool picture, with the entire crowd, field, and OSU marching band behind us.  Unfortunately, when they blew it up it was too grainy.  So, after looking through my 19,000+ pictures (not exaggerating), I decided I needed to take some more!  It is a triptych canvas, so it will come in 3 separate pieces.  So, you really need the people to be in the center and it has to be landscape.  So, I dressed Ellie and Jackson up in some OSU gear and took their pics.  It was tough since I was by myself, Jackson still can't sit up completely by himself, Ellie doesn't realize how important it is to hold him tight, neither smile at the same time, and Jackson threw up carrots and bananas approximately 6 times during the photo shoot.  With that being said, I did get a few cute ones!

Bad Blogger

Well, what can I say?  I'm super behind on blogging and have decided that, rather than try to catch up, I'll just start now and move forward.  We had WAY too many Christmases to try to catch up on!  Plus, Ellie has had an ear infection and croup followed by Jackson having RSV.  It's Day 11 for Jackson, and he's just now starting to feel better.  Yay!

2013 is off to a great, yet busy, start.  Ellie is back to school.  I finally rejoined the YMCA and talked Kyle into doing it with me.  It's always better with a friend!  Except he won't agree to the Zumba classes . . . ha!

Jackson is 4 months old now.  At his 4 month appointment (which is when I think he contracted RSV) he weighed 17 pounds 3 ounces (88th %) and was 26 inches long (83rd %).  His head measurement was in the 95th % (nothing new!).  He is wearing size 2 diapers and 6 and 6-9 month clothes.  Everyone had to take back his Christmas presents when they found out our 3 month old was NOT in 3 month clothing!  He is getting stronger everyday and should be rolling all over the place and sitting up soon.  For now, he loves to "talk," laugh, reach for toys, my hair, shirt, jewelry, etc., grab his feet, blow raspberries, watch his sister, and look at books (especially the ones that light up and sing).  We started some rice cereal and baby food, but due to his severe congestion he hasn't been too into baby food.  He has tried sweet potatoes, green beans, bananas, and apples.  And he has approved them all (which means he cries if I don't shovel it in fast enough).

Ellie is 2 1/2 going on 16.  She has officially entered her Terrible Twos stage and is testing us any chance she gets.  While it is a very frustrating time, I know it is just a phase, and now enjoy her sweet moments even more!  She is still crazy about Jackson.  She is also obsessed with Lily still and spends most of her day changing Lily's diaper and dressing/undressing her.  Which is fine, but she uses Jackson's clothes, diapers, wipes, burp cloths, and bibs.  I never know what is clean and what isn't.  I'm sure I do twice as much laundry as I need to!  She is so smart and funny!  She keeps us laughing all the time.  Her teachers describe her as an adult trapped in a two-year-old body.  It's true!

Kyle and I are so proud of our babies!  It has been crazy since I came home from the hospital with Jackson!  If possible, we are looking forward to things slowing down a little.  (I can hear all of you parents laughing at how naive I am.)  We are also looking forward to our first family vacation in March.  Not sure if it will recharge us or exhaust us, but we're excited about it nonetheless.  Now I've got to hit the gym if I'm going to be in a swimsuit in a few months!

Hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
