Jackson is 4 weeks old now and we're finally starting to get into a routine. Unfortunately, all didn't go as planned this last week when Ellie woke up with a stomach bug at 3 a.m. on Tuesday morning. She threw up for 2 days and had fever. It's so terrible when your baby is sick! All she did was sleep on Tuesday and Wednesday, and although she was feeling somewhat better on Thursday, she was still not back to herself until Friday. Luckily, nobody else in our house got it (and I don't know how because Kyle and I both were thrown up on at some point).
I think I mentioned in the last post that Jackson had not been sleeping well. If not, Jackson was not sleeping well during his 3rd week home! He would immediately cry when I'd lay him down in the bassinet, no matter how long I would rock him and hold him beforehand. I was so exhausted and the only way I could get him to sleep is to hold him and sleep in the recliner. He seems to throw up a lot more than Ellie did and doesn't like to lay flat on his back, so we are thinking he might have some acid reflux going on. We bought him a Nap Nanny last Friday and it has been amazing! It's just a foam bed that allows him to sleep on an incline. He is sleeping so much better now. In fact, the past two nights he's slept 3 1/2 to 4 hours at a stretch. Much better than 30 minutes at a time (or not at all)! It was a little pricey, but totally worth it. We've already put him in his room due to Ellie being sick this week and sleeping in our room with us. This might have helped him sleep better since we have 2 dogs in our room and a frequent middle-of-the-night visitor (Miss Ellie).
I have lots of catching up to do on here. Jackson will be a month old on Monday, so I'll do a post on him after his 1 month check up. Ellie has been doing so well at MDO and learning so much. I'll dedicate a post to her soon! Until then, here are some pictures from our last few weeks.
We put up the tent in the living room and "camped out."

I LOVE his natural mohawk. You couldn't get that baby to lay down if you tried!
