I am so proud of my girl. She has adjusted amazingly well to being a big sister. She LOVES Jackson. She has also been doing very well at "school" too. It takes her a long time to warm up to new people/places/situations (basically, anything she's not used to), so when we got the report last week that she hadn't cried, but had talked to her teachers and eaten a little of her lunch, we were so impressed! So were her teachers. Like everyone else that hears her talk, they were amazed at how well she can speak. She talks like a 5-year-old, no kidding!
She really likes her school, and so do we. Everyone there is super sweet, especially her teachers. She is already learning so much. She now knows the days of the week and most of the months of the year. We're working on September - December. She's learning the Pledge of Allegiance. They're working on letters and letter sounds. She came home saying, "G says g-g-g. M says m-m-m." I'm pretty sure I didn't learn that stuff until Kindergarten! They're also learning shapes and colors, but she already knows all of those! She's made friends and talks about them all the time. She can name all the kids in her class.
Here are a few funny conversations we've had about school:
Dad: "Do any of the kids in your class talk?"
Ellie: "No. I don't talk either."
Dad: "Who talks the most in your class?"
Ellie: "Mrs. Brandie and Mrs. Jessica."
Makes sense! They're the teachers!
-----------------------
Mom: "Do you eat in the cafeteria?"
Ellie: "No."
Mom: "Do you eat in your classroom?"
Ellie: "No. I eat in the car."
This is true. She eats her lunch in the car on the way home. She's so literal!
------------------------
Ellie: "Today Mrs. Jessica tried to peel my string cheese and I didn't want her to so I kicked her."
Mom: (horrified) "You kicked your teacher??!! That wasn't very nice."
Ellie: "That's what Mrs. Jessica said."
OMG! I almost died. And I don't think she was making it up.

Ellie's favorite things right now at 2 years 4 months:
-Her baby, Lily (she changes her diaper about 50 times a day and does a great job!)
-Watching Dora (would do 50 times a day if I let her)
-Doing Projects (if she can paint, glue, peel and stick, etc., she's happy!)
-Trail mix (she eats all the M & Ms first, of course)
-Chewing gum (she's finally getting the hang of it and not swallowing it)
-Singing (right now she sings "Love You Like a Love Song," "Call Me Maybe," and "Whistle" all the time . . . Yes, the Flo Rida song.) She also sings kid songs. Her favorites are "Peter Cottontail," "Twinkle, Twinkle," "Itsy Bitsy Spider," and "ABCs."
-Her brother
-Taking showers instead of baths
-Playing with her cousins and friends
-Wearing flip-flops
-NOT wearing pants (you'll notice she only has on a shirt in panties in most recent pictures)
-Wearing a ponytail
-Painting her toenails
-Climbing (on the kitchen table, bar stools, pool table, etc.)
-Taking pictures with my camera
Ellie has been completely potty trained for about 2 months now. She doesn't even wear a diaper at night. We're so proud of her for that. She weighed at Jackson's doctor's appt. yesterday and weighs 28.6 pounds. She wears size 6 shoes and 24 months or 2T clothing. Not sure about her height, but she seems short.
Here are some pictures of my beautiful girl:

Showing her guns . . . Go Pokes!
Showing off her new OSU shirt
She got this knot/bruise when she fell off the kitchen chair on Sunday night. It was horrible! She just fell out of her chair from a standing position and smacked her head on the tile. I felt so bad for her. She told her teachers all about it on Monday . . . that we put ice on it, she got some ibuprofen and an orange popsicle.
Giving Jackson a hug . . . he looks like he's really enjoying it. ;)
Ellie Rose . . . you are such a beautiful, sweet, smart little girl. I can't believe you're mine. I've never been so proud of something in my life. You are my sunshine. I love you so much!
