Jackson's 3D Ultrasound

On Wednesday, we had Jackson's 3D Ultrasound.  Like I said in the last post, he wasn't quite the showoff like his sister was during hers, but we did get some good ones.  He is very handsome!  He obviously has a perfect little nose and some very full, sweet lips.  I can't wait to kiss them!

I know some people don't think you can see much in these ultrasounds, but after Ellie was born we could totally see how it looked like her . . . even certain expressions she made were the same.  She stuck out her tongue, sucked her thumb, and made all kinds of faces.  Jackson was a little more subdued, but he's a boy, so I guess that's fitting!  Here are a few of the best ones and one of Ellie to compare.

8 weeks from today we will meet you!  I CAN'T WAIT!

Jackson's Baby Shower

On Saturday, June 16th, my best girls threw a baby shower for me!  It was decorated so freakin' cute and we had a lot of fun.  We also got a lot of much needed items for our sweet boy (who will be here in 8 weeks and 1 day! Wow!).

For some reason, my pics went on backwards so we didn't actually start by opening gifts!

Ellie came over to help a few times between playing with Sadie and Gage

Ellie was so excited to see "Baby Gage."  She ran to hug him as soon as we walked in the door.
The Decorations . . . all so precious!

My little Cowgirl
At first, she told me the boots were "buggin' her," but then she must have gotten used to them.  She wouldn't take them off even though it was about 95 degrees out!

Eating her "pupcake," and making sure this white dress is worn only once!
Me, Ellie, and my sweet nieces, Haven and Sadie

Thank you so much to all my friends and family for a wonderful shower!  It was perfect!  Now all we have to do is wait!

A little update on Jackson:  We just had a doctor's appointment on Tuesday (at 31 weeks).  We have scheduled my C-Section for 7:00 a.m. on Friday, August 24th.  After doing some measurements, Dr. Hager predicted that he will be bigger than Ellie (she weighed 9 lbs. 1 oz.)!  He is currently breech and apparently bigger than most babies at this stage, but all that is fine since I'm having a C-Section anyway.  We had his 3D ultrasound yesterday.  He didn't cooperate quite as well as Ellie did, but he did look like her!  Especially his nose and mouth.  He also had some chubby cheeks!  I will post some of those pics from the ultrasound soon!

Sas Fairy

We decided that when Ellie turned 2 it would be time to take away the sas (aka pacifier).  She had recently become very addicted to it!  One was never enough.  Nor was two.  It had to be four or five at a time and all day long.  She had them stashed.  She could get into the drawer and dishwasher to get them as well.  I knew it would be a challenge, but one we had to face soon since she will be getting a new little brother in August.  I knew if I let it go too long she'd end up with a sas until she was 5 years old!

So, going off an idea I saw on Mandy's blog a few years ago, we had the Sas Fairy come to visit.  We started telling Ellie about her a week in advance.  She talked about her everyday and kept asking when she was coming, obviously not aware of what would happen once she did.  When the time came, she packed up each of her sasses very carefully and we left them on the porch.  A few hours later when we checked back, the Sas Fairy had left Ellie a very special surprise and took her sasses to give to other little babies that needed them.  She was thrilled with her present and did pretty well that night.  And then the reality set in.  The next day when it was time for a nap she flipped out!  We were in the car and I thought she'd fall asleep on the way home.  However, she threw a huge, screaming fit and was even pulling her own hair (hard!).  It was so pitiful and sad.  She has asked for it everyday since then (going on 2 weeks now) in some way.  She'll either ask for one, look in the drawer where they used to be, or start talking about the Sas Fairy.  I feel so horrible!  She hasn't been taking naps since she gave it up and she has developed separation anxiety.  She doesn't want to be away from me or have anyone but me do anything for her.  I can't believe how tough this has been!  In fact, Jackson just may not even get a pacifier!

I hope that this will pass soon and that she can get back to herself.  Until then, I just keep telling myself to take it one day at a time.  It's a phase.  This shall soon pass.  (And all those other quotes I usually shrug off.)

Here are the pics from the Sas Fairy's visit.

She counted each one and placed it nicely in the box (9 total)

Memorial Day 2012

We made our annual trip to Las Vegas, New Mexico for the Sevier family reunion this Memorial Day.  We stopped halfway in Amarillo on Friday and stayed in a hotel with a pool.  Ellie was so excited about swimming and I thought we would have a great time!  (Similar to what I thought about the bounce house at her birthday party.) But, no . . . she wouldn't get in the pool with me.  She did get in the lukewarm hot tub, but that was it.

"Swimming"

We headed to New Mexico the next day.  She did great on the trip (8 hours total) like she always does.  Kyle's mom got me some DVD players for my car for Christmas and I watched enough Dora episodes to last me a lifetime!

Once we got there, there were lots of little girls to play with!  Ellie had so much fun playing with Lacy, Molly, Lily, and Ansley.  As usual, it was beautiful up in the mountains.
She finally got her fingers to cooperate.  She's saying, "I'm 2 years old."
 Beautiful sunset
 Playing with the girls
Beautiful deer right on the side of the mountain.  They didn't even seem scared of us.  In fact, the walked toward the car a few times!
Silly girl posing for the camera!

 Ellie and Mommy
I didn't take nearly enough pictures this year, but we had a great time!  We came straight home, and Ellie did better on the trip than I did!  An 8 hours trip for a momma that's almost 7 months pregnant is not very comfortable.  But, we made it!  Hope everyone else had a fun, safe Memorial Day!
