Jackson's Nursery

Jackson's nursery is ready and waiting.  We can't wait until he is here!  (Especially me.  I'm huge and it's hot.)

A glimpse into the future . . .

It's a scary thought that my sweet little two-year-old will someday be wearing highheels and driving, but I did get a sneak peak this week.  She wanted to play dress-up, but because I mentioned it, not because she really knew what it entailed.  So, I had to show her.  She enjoyed getting all fancy and walking around in my shoes and jewelry for about 5 minutes.  Maybe she will take after me!  That's about how long I enjoy being dressed up!

As far as driving goes, we're actually just excited that she finally tried driving her new car.  It was from her birthday, but she's been too afraid to do it by herself up until the other night.  We cleared the driveway and showed her how the gear shift worked.  She likes to be right in the middle of going forward and then throw it into reverse.  She is still a little short, so we have to pile up towels behind her, but she'll get the hang of it!  I can't wait to see her driving her little brother around!  For right now, Lily will have to do.

I love this one because it looks like she's posing, although I think she was about to run over to me
 Strapping Lily in her seat
I love this one!  Her hair is blowing in the wind and her tongue is out.
We still have to teach the "look both ways before you cross the street" rule
 A little help from daddy
I think she needs to take it to the carwash!

4th of July

We had lots of fun on the 4th of July.  Too much fun actually!  It took us the entire next day to recover.  Ellie, because she's 2.  Me, because I'm HUGE and pregnant. ;)

We went over to my mom's house to swim and cookout for the entire day.  Ellie swam and swam with her cousins Jaiden, Jasmine, and Jett.  She loves to swim now and does a pretty good job!  She likes to be on her belly and kick her feet.  She can swim from person to person.  She also likes to jump in while holding my hand.  As if swimming and stuffing ouselves all day weren't enough to make us want to go home and go straight to bed, we went to the park to meet Kyle's family and watch the fireworks show that didn't even start until 10:00!  And then it lasted about 45 minutes.  It was the longest fireworks show I've ever seen.  Ellie didn't like it and sat in my mom's lap with her ears covered the entire time.  She actually fell asleep during the show.

After the mile long walk to and from the park with our lawnchairs, cooler, bag containing sunscreen, bug spray, snacks, etc., I was about to pass out!  It was a nice 4th of July celebration, but we definitely learned what to do, what to take/leave, and where to park for next year!

I love this shot!  I put her hair in "one pigtail" (as Ellie called it).  She looked just like me when I was her age!

Catching up

So, I just got on here to post 4th of July pictures and realized I haven't even posted Father's Day yet.  We have been SO freaking busy this month.  I haven't had time to do anything!  Just in the month of June we have celebrated several birthdays, Father's Day, our 9th wedding anniversary, had a baby shower, several doctor's appointments, the 3D ultrasound, a trip to Dallas, a trip to Tulsa, trips to the library and waterpark, cookouts, several Thunder watch parties, and the list goes on and on.  This pregnant momma is ready for some down time!  So, now that I've explained why I'm so behind, here are some great pics to go with all those events!

Father's Day 2012

Kyle's annual regional meeting was in Frisco, TX this year.  We went down early to McKinney to see our good friends Danny, Toni, and their new baby girl, Claire.  Ellie loved Claire, or "Baby Claire," as she calls her.  I like to see her around other babies right now since she will be a big sister very soon.  She was very sweet and gentle with Claire.

I couldn't choose just one of these!

(Btw . . . this is Ellie's new fake smile.  She even calls it that.)

Silly girl!  Ellie hadn't been too thrilled about swimming yet this summer until this day.  She saw another little girl her age swimming around and decided to get brave.  Now she loves it and is swimming really well with just arm floaties.  She'll lay on her stomach and kick her feet and swim from one person to another.  She's a little fish!

Putting (or tossing) balls with dad on the putting green
Ellie's a night owl, so all her friends on the trip would go to sleep
several hours before her.  Then she'd just hang out with all of us adults!

 Swimming with Daddy
 Going down the waterslide!
Dressed up for the golf themed awards banquet
This was the day after we got home from Texas.  We were on our way to take my Nini to lunch for her birthday.  I just thought Ellie looked so stinkin' cute this day!
At the waterpark with Grandma, Haven, Sadie, and Aunt Des.  She had so much fun this day.  I'd planned on staying for an hour or two, but that turned into 4!  She was exhausted!

Our good friends Shawn and Stephanie just moved back to Tulsa from Indianapolis.  We went to visit them last weekend.  Their little girl, Tatum, is 3 months older than Ellie and Stephanie is pregnant and due about 3 weeks before me.  Ellie and Tatum had a great time playing, Steph and I had fun sitting around and talking about our girls and new babies and complaining about pregnancy during the hottest part of the year, and the guys had fun cooking out, drinking beer, and catching up.  We're so glad they're just an hour and a half down the turnpike now!

How cute are these girls?!  Ellie put her arm around Tatum all on her own.

Yes . . . I said Stephanie is due 3 weeks before me.  It appears to be the other way around!
 The whole group!

WHEW!  That was a long post, but I feel so much better now!  Hopefully, I can stay caught up now . . . at least until I become a mother of two!
